History of Islamic Revolution in Iran

(Part 1) ---TEHRAN The victory of the Islamic Revolution has been a multilateral victory which was achieved through the efforts made by the clerics and people during some decades For about fifty years, some colonial governments like the United Kingdom and the United States tried their best to eliminate Islam from the social scene, or to make it devoid of real sense.
They intended to achieve their hegemonic aims by undermining Islam in Iran and other Islamic countries where they pursued their interests. As they had already failed to further their interests through military force, they decided to achieve their colonial objectives through the following means: 1 - Propagation of the motto of the separation of religion from politics. 2 - Changing the calender of the Iranian people from the Islamic to the imperial one.
3 - Direct or indirect breaking of Islamic rules in cultural and social fields on the pretext of promoting culture. Under the leadership of the late Imam Khomeini, the Iranian Moslems started to fight against the Shah and his supporters, who wanted to do away with the Islamic identity of the Iranians. Imam Khomeini was arrested on June 5, 1963 (Khordad 15, 1342) by the regime's agents because of his famous speech against the Shah. Consequently, a great number of people and ulema held a rally crying Either Death or Khomeini and requested the release of the Imam. During the rally many innocent Iranians were killed by the agents of the Pahlavi regime.
Following this incident, on October 26, 1964 (Aban 4, 1343) Imam Khomeini delivered his speech against Capitulation, which led to his arrest. He was exiled to Turkey nine days later. (To be Contd)
